Bob Sampson's Great Fly Safari of '94

Bob Sampson is not alone.

He’s one of the millions of Australians who love nothing more than to get out their favourite fly swat or preferred-brand fly spray and go on a wild orgy of mass murder.

Sometimes the urge is triggered by having a single fly land on and defecate in your fresh vanilla milkshake.

Often it’s just hearing the buzz of twenty or thirty excited flies while you’re trying to concentrate on finding a five-letter Scrabble word which ends in Q and Z, so you can achieve the ‘Triple Word Score’ which will prevent you from coming last, again,

And often, it’s just because you missed out on a job promotion or the chance of a sexual encounter involving another living person who’s in the same room as you, and you just feel like slaughtering something mercilessly.
